چکیده
Nowadays, different areas of large modern enterprises use different database management systems to store and search their critical data. Competition, evolving technology, geographical distribution, and the inevitable growing decentralization contribute to this diversity. All of these databases are very important to an enterprise, but the their different interfaces make their administration difficult. Therefore, recovering information through a common interface becomes crucial to realize, for instance, the full value of data contained in the databases (Hass & Lin, 2002). In the 1990s, the term federated database emerged to characterize techniques for proving an integrating data access, giving a set of distributed, heterogeneous, and autonomous databases (Busse, Kutsche, Leser & Weber, 1999; Litwin, Mark, & Roussoupoulos, 1990; Sheth & Larson, 1990). Even these concepts are rather wellknown today, a brief introduction would clarify their meanings in the context of our paper. They are as follows:

Context-aware Modeling for Spatio-temporal Data Transmitted from a Wireless Body Sensor Network
Context-aware systems must be interoperable and work across different platforms at any time and in any place. Context data collected from wireless body area networks (WBAN) may be heterogeneous and imperfect, which makes their design and implementation difficult. In this research, we introduce a model which takes the dynamic nature of a context-aware system into consideration. This model is con...
متن کاملA Query Driven Method of Mapping from Global Ontology to Local Ontology in Ontology-based Data Integration
At present, the mediator/wrapper integration methods are widely used in ontology based data integration because they solve the data update problems of data warehouse method. The key of this method is building of mapping from the global ontology in mediator to the local ontology in wrapper. This article analyzes the general mapping methods and designs a SPARQL query driven Global Local as View (...
متن کاملA Case Study of an Ontology-Driven Dynamic Data Integration in a Telecommunications Supply Chain
Data Integration refers to the problem of combining data residing at autonomous and heterogeneous sources, and providing users with a unified global view. Ontology-based integration solutions have been advocated but for the case to be made for real deployment of such solutions, the integration effort and performance needs to be characterized. In this paper, we measure the performance of a gener...
متن کاملThe MOMIS-STASIS approach for Ontology-Based Data Integration
Ontology based Data Integration involves the use of ontology(s) to effectively combine data and information from multiple heterogeneous sources [18]. Ontologies can be used in an integration task to describe the semantics of the information sources and to make the contents explicit. With respect to the integration of data sources, they can be used for the identification and association of seman...

متن کاملAn Improved Semantic Schema Matching Approach
Schema matching is a critical step in many applications, such as data warehouse loading, Online Analytical Process (OLAP), Data mining, semantic web [2] and schema integration. This task is defined for finding the semantic correspondences between elements of two schemas. Recently, schema matching has found considerable interest in both research and practice. In this paper, we present a new impr...
